Dear Sir / Madam,

As lay Buddhists, it is our duty to take care of the essential needs of the venerable monks who help us grow in Dhamma to find our path to liberation. As we all know that during the time of Supreme Buddha, Sangha Upasthanaya was done by Vishaka Upasika and Anathapindika Upaska and many other lay buddhist upasaka upasika.

You will be surprised to know that there are many monasteries where the forest Sangha resides away from the lay community today.  These monks continue the practice with very few facilities available within the rural areas in Sri Lanka.

Although the simplicity is the main intention of their practice, it will be a great opportunity for us to gain merits on Sangha Upasthanaya by providing the facilities for their wellbeing.

If you wonder how to pay the debt of gratitude to the teachers, you can support the Labunoruwakanda Monastery by making a donation for purchasing of a vehicle (Van) to the Monastery. Monks at this remote monastery which is located 15 km away from the town have no transport facilities other than hiring a three-wheeler to manage their transportation requirements even when they are sick.
